Bradt Travel Guides to publish an “inspiring” new wildlife title by HRH Princess Michael of Kent in September.
A CHEETAH’S TALE is the first of Princess Michael’s books to detail aspects of her own life, describing the travels she took through Africa in the 1960s, which sparked her lifelong interest in wildlife, and cheetahs in particular.
Princess Michael is currently Royal Patron of the Endangered Species Centre in South Africa and also the Cheetah Conservation Fund in Namibia.
She said: “The worldwide cheetah population has fallen 90% since 1900, leading to calls for the species’ status to be changed from ‘vulnerable’ to ‘endangered’. I hope the story of Tess, the cub I raised and released into the wild, will encourage readers to fall in love with cheetahs in order to help save them from extinction.”

Her Royal Highness will take part in a number of promotional events for the title, including literary festival appearances and a launch event at the Royal Geographical Society near her home in Kensington Palace.
A CHEETAH’S TALE will be published by Bradt Travel Guides on 28th September.
