WELCOME TO LIFE

Welcome to Life is a coming-of age story set in Cambridge during the recession of the late 80s. 14-year-old Freya is desperate for love, but her self-involved mother and depressed property-developer father are either unwilling or unable to meet her needs.  When they acquire a lodger, Freya’s parents break with marital convention, leaving their daughter in turmoil.  As the housing market crashes so too, tragically, does the nuclear family. Welcome to Life takes a provocative look at post-feminist womanhood, asking - is all fair in love and war?  And how much love is ever enough?
