After reading English at Cambridge, Denise Meredith trained in advertising, worked for a number of leading conservation charities and ran the press office at the British Red Cross, where she oversaw all international humanitarian disasters and spearheaded the landmines campaign. After having her children, she worked as a consultant on campaigning and media relations for WWF, Greenpeace, Help the Aged , the IUCN and many others. She was a Trustee of Afghanaid for a number of years. She lives in Southwest London with her family.
